President John Dramani Mahama Joins Muslims to Celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr

President John Dramani Mahama on Monday joined the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and the Muslim community to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr at the Independence Square in Accra.

Speaking at the celebration shortly after the Eid prayers, President John Dramani Mahama called on Ghanaians to extend kindness and support to the vulnerable in society as Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. He emphasized the need for compassion and unity, particularly towards the less fortunate.

The President reminded the gathering that Eid-ul-Fitr is not only a time of joy and thanksgiving but also an opportunity to demonstrate generosity.

“As we mark the end of Ramadan, let us not forget the vulnerable in our communities. This is a time for reflection, kindness, and support. We must look out for those who are struggling and extend a helping hand,” President Mahama stated.

Mr. Mahama noted that the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration lies in the ability to uplift one another. He called on Ghanaians to use the occasion to strengthen bonds of brotherhood to promote peaceful coexistence.

“The true essence of this celebration lies in our ability to uplift one another. Let us use this occasion to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and ensure that no one is left behind,” he added.
