Police Chief Calls on Nungua Traditional Authorities

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, accompanied by some members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) on Thursday, 3rd April 2025, paid a courtesy call on the traditional authorities of the Nungua Traditional Area.

The IGP and his team first met with Nungua Mantse, Oboade Notse King Professor Odaifio Welentsi IIl, and later met with the Gborbu Wulormor, Nuumo Borketey Laweh XXXIII, to foster stronger ties between the police and traditional leadership.

During the visit, the IGP expressed his gratitude for the Nungua Traditional Council’s continued support and recognized their role in maintaining peace and security in the region. He emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between the police service and traditional authorities to further enhance community safety and uphold law and order.

Both leaders warmly welcomed the IGP and congratulated him on his appointment. They urged him to work closely with all stakeholders and enhance security across the country. They further assured him of their support and wished him well.

The IGP was accompanied by the following POMAB members; the Director-General/Private Security Organizations, COP/Mr. Daniel Afriyie; Director-General/Services, COP/Dr. Ernest Owusu; Director-General/Finance, COP/Mr. Michael Nketiah Frempong, Director-General/CID, DCOP/Ms. Lydia Yaako Donkor and the Director-General/HRD, DCOP/ Mr. Fredrick Blogodzie.
