Mahama Advocates SME Support and Industrial Growth at Kwahu Business Forum

President John Dramani Mahama has highlighted the need for collaboration in harnessing Ghana’s economic growth, in areas such as job creation and a tailored support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). He noted that this integrated approach would ensure sustainable business growth and promote the wellbeing of citizenry.

The president made the remark when he addressed a gathering of business owners and high-profile government officials at the second edition of the Kwahu Business Forum.

He rallied on African nations to shift attention from a trading towards embracing manufacturing, industrialization, and entrepreneurship.

President john Mahama described the ongoing global trade wars as an opportunity for Africa to liberate itself in the evolving global economic innovations, reflecting on the continent’s historical missed chances during pivotal transitions such as the Cold War and globalization.

He expressed optimism about leveraging current geopolitical shifts, encouraging bold ventures into agribusiness, digital entrepreneurship, and large-scale commercial farming.

“We can be anything that we want,” Mahama stated, advocating for digital, green, and inclusive business practices to drive Ghana’s economic growth. He also noted early signs of stabilization in Ghana’s economy, addressing challenges such as inflation and currency fluctuations.

On the sidelines of the forum, Eastern Regional Minister Madam Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey shared her inspiration from the event’s focus on youth entrepreneurship, targeted support for SMEs, and the call to build a stronger, inclusive economy.
