Ebenezer Cobbinah Takes Office as Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive in Historic Unanimous Vote

In a historic vote on Wednesday, the assembly members of Tarkwa-Nsuaem have in a unanimous decision approved the nomination of 38-year-old Mr. Ebenezer Cobbinah as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). The confirmation vote took place at the St. Mathews parish Hall in Tarkwa, marking a pivotal moment in local governance.

The exercise which was conducted and supervised by the electoral commission of Ghana was smooth and peaceful.

Administering the oath of office to the Municipal Chief Executive, the Western Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Nelson said he was grateful to all the 42 assembly members who voted to secure the 100 percent unanimous decision. He noted that the unanimous confirmation not only symbolizes unity within the assembly but also signifies a collective commitment to the growth and transformation of Tarkwa Nsuaem municipal assembly.

On his part, the member of parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem, Honorable Issah Salifu Taylor rallied the assembly members to eschew party politics and support the municipal chief executive to facilitate the development of Tarkwa and its environs.

Mr. Ebenezer Cobbinah in his acceptance address thanked president John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in him to lead the people of Tarkwa Nsuaem. He also expressed his appreciation to the assembly members for the trust placed in him and lauded his predecessor, Mr. Benjamin Kessie for his counsel.

“I am humbled by this unanimous decision and ready to work collaboratively to improve the lives of residents in Tarkwa Nsuaem municipality.”

The MCE outlined a strategic plan focusing on developmental projects, enhanced infrastructure, education, healthcare, and community engagement to address key challenges in the municipality.

In an audience granted the Ghmailonline.com’s Abdul Karim Bintu, some residents and stakeholders said they are optimistic about Mr. Cobbinah’s leadership, heralding this decision as a beacon of progress.

Ebenezer Cobbinah, known for his dedication to public service and innovative leadership was a principal hall assistant at the university of mines and technology, (UMaT) in Tarkwa prior to his appointment as the Municipal Chief Executive.
